Underneath the grand canopy of the pines, walk along the sturdy trunks with brownish-gray, deeply furrowed bark. Experience nature’s sights, sounds, smells, and textures as you observe the myriad of colors presented by the purple blooms of the sensitive briar and Liatris spicata, the orange-fringed orchid, the yellow toothache grass, and the white-topped pitcher plant. Activity takes place as an eastern fox squirrel nibbles on an unopened pine cone, wild turkeys strut by, a hawk soars above, and quail flutter along.
